The Government of Rajasthan has taken up a comprehensive and extensive programme for the development of the Braj area and the Braj Chourasi Kos Parikrama.

Braj Mandal is the land blessed with the impressions of the divine little footsteps of Lord Krishna. It is the holy birthplace of Shyam, and the place where the Natkhat Bal Gopal spent his childhood years. Every year, thousands of persons from all over India, and beyond, converge here for the divine Parikrama (circumambulation) of the holy land. The circumference of this parikrama marg being 84 kos hence the name, Braj Chourasi Kos.
