Braj-Bhoomi's history is closely interwoven with the legend of Lord Krishna. Mathura, traditionally recognised as the capital of Braj Bhoomi, is the birthplace of Lord Krishna. The Twin City of Vrindavan, 15 km from Mathura, is also an integral part of the legend of Lord Krishna.

River Yamuna
The Yamuna that flows through Vrindavan and Mathura, is the most sacred river in India, being very important part of Lord Krishna's childhood. Situated on the bank of the Yamuna is the Keshi Ghat, where Krishna killed the Demon, Keshi, and saved his friends. The one who bathes here gets the benediction of bathing in all other holy places.
