Rajasthan Bags Conservation Of Monuments Award
Jaipur, 23 August:
Rajasthan has bagged the coveted conservation of monuments award
at the Hospitality India & Explore the World Annual
International Award-2008 in New Delhi on Friday. The glittering
ceremony took place at the Ashoka Hotel Convention Centre.
The award was received by the Rajasthan?s Minister of State for
Tourism, Art & Culture, Ms. Usha Punia from the Union Minister
for Development of North Eastern Region, Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar.
The Union Minister of Tourism and Culture, Ms. Ambika Soni was
also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Ms. Punia said that the concerted efforts
put in by the State Government for conservation and restoration
of monuments was aptly being recognized by prestigious
institutions.

AND NOW RAJASTHAN TOURISM HAS ITS OWN NEWSLETTER
Jaipur, 20 August: The Department of
Tourism has launched its own four-page newsletter by the name of
?Destination Rajasthan?. The first issue was released by the Chief
Minister, Ms. Vasundhara Raje recently.
A special feature of the newsletter is an exclusive interview of
Minister for Tourism, Mr. Devi Singh Bhati. In his interview, the
Minister revealed that one of the greatest strengths of Rajasthan is
the warm, friendly people in any and every city. Tourists love
coming back to the state for their holidays, he said.
Mr. Bhati also said that the focus of the Department would be on
improving the infrastructure, developing the circuits and creating a
tourist-friendly Rajasthan. The Minister also said that the Royal
Rajasthan on Wheels was likely to be in operation by December. He
revealed that they shall be marketing it through advertisements in
the prestigious international travel publications, as well as
through tour operators and travel agents.More..

SUMMARY OF PROCEEDINGS
The Great Indian Travel Bazaar 2008, the first-ever travel
mart in India focusing exclusively on inbound tourism, saw 146
foreign tour operators and travel writers from over 42 countries
interact with registered Indian sellers spread over 250 booths
in the exhibition area. Structured and informal B2B meetings
were fructified over 3 days. On an average each foreign buyer
had over 20 meetings spread over 3 days, thus around 3000
structured and informal B2B meetings were conducted.More..
