ABOUT THE EVENT

With an all-time high 4.43 million foreign tourist arrivals in the year 2006 and over 400 million domestic tourists, US$ 6 billion foreign exchange earnings and a 5.83% contribution to the GDP, the tourism sector with its diverse product profile, is poised for a phenomenal growth. The 'Incredible India' campaign of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, the relentless efforts by the state governments to promote tourism and the strategically crafted endeavors by the tourism fraternity of India in the corporate sector have given the desired thrust to the tourism industry in India.

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, The Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), are organizing The Great Indian Travel Bazaar 08, - an international tourism mart on April 21-23, 2008 at B.M. Birla Convention Centre, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Leading national and regional associations like Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Hotel & Restaurant Association of Rajasthan (HRAR), Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA) are supporting the event.


The Hon'ble President of India, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Hon'ble Union Minister for Tourism and Culture are being invited to address the inaugural session of the Great Indian Travel Bazaar.

The objective of this event is to reinforce India as a world-class tourism destination with its myriad attractions. The event has been structured in the following manner :

  • A Travel Bazaar comprising over 200 booths to showcase and market the varied tourism products of India.

  • Opportunity for innumerable buyer-seller meetings spread over the 3-day event.

  • Structured interactive sessions spread over three day for brainstorming on opportunities and potential of India's Tourism with national and international experts.

  • Social networking events, delightful Indian cuisine and vibrant cultural programme.

  • Around 100 key foreign tour operators from all over the world are expected to attend the event.
