Notification

 

The Rajasthan Tourism Project Appraisal Rules, 1999.

The State Government in Tourism Department hereby makes the following rules for appraisal of tourism projects in Rajasthan, namely.


1.   Short title, extent and commencement-

(1)        These rules shall be called The Rajasthan Tourism Project Appraisal Rules, 1999.

(2)        These rules shall extend to the whole state of Rajasthan.

(3)        These rules shall come into force with immediate effect.

 2.   Definitions.-

(1)In these rules, unless there is anything contrary to the subject or context.

(a)"Tourism Unit" means a tourism project approved by the Department of Tourism, Government of India, or by the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, and shall include:

(i)         a hotel classified by the Government of India as a heritage hotel, heritage classic hotel or heritage grand hotel, or as a star category hotel.

(ii)        any other hotel having a boarding and lodging unit providing a minimum of 10 let table fully furnished bedrooms, double or single, each attached with sanitary filled toilets, and bathrooms, with adequate dinning, reception and public areas; or a cluster of huts with similar attached facilities in each hut and located in a tourist resort, each cluster equipped with adequate dinning, reception and public areas; or a permanently fixed tented tourist camp with all modern amenities including sanitary fitted common bath-rooms and toilets, one after every four beds, with adequate dinning, reception and public areas.

(iii)        a Hotel which includes wayside facilities under one roof such as accommodation, fair price shop and the like.

(iv)        a camping site with furnished tents, accommodation, having at least fifty tents along with bathroom and toilet facilities.

(v)         A restaurant, that is to say, an eating place provided with chairs; tables, crockery, cutlery and linen to accommodate a minimum of 40 customers properly seated at a given time where 'a-la-carte' meals are served. The unit must have a separate hygienically maintained kitchen with modern equipment as well as separate toilet facilities for ladies and gents.

(vi)        a holiday resort providing sports and recreational facilities, riding, swimming and social amenities with boarding & lodging arrangement in cottages.

(vii)       an amusement park providing various type of rides, games and amusement for children as well as for adults.

(viii)     a safari park developed with the permission of the Forest Department.

(ix)            an aerial ropeway established under the prevailing rules and regulations.

(x)        a motel, that is to say, a lodging facility available by the road side of a highway providing a minimum of 10 furnished beds with dinning facilities in double or single rooms each with attached sanitary fitted toilets and bath rooms where motorists and their vehicles can be accommodated. The unit shall be located adjacent to a service station with refueling arrangements and adequate communication facilities.

(xi)            a midway.

(xii)       a paying guest house, that is to say, a boarding/lodging facility in an existing residential house created by making available some rooms within the house or by addition of one or two rooms to the existing structure and provided to tourists on payment with a view to afford them an opportunity of staying as part of the family. The accommodation can be upto 10 beds in single, double or three to four bedded rooms with attached or common sanitary fitted bathroom/toilet facilities.

(xiii)      a cafeteria, that is to say, an eating place that can accommodate a minimum of 30 persons seated at a time where customers fetch food and drinks from the counter. The unit must have a separate hygienically maintained kitchen besides separate sanitary fitted hygienically maintained toilets for ladies and gents.

(b)Tourist luxury coach shall mean an air-conditioned/centrally heated luxury coach with push back seats used for the normal transportation of tourists to different tourist destinations and for sightseeing of various tourist places with a minimum seating capacity of 18 seats. It should be operated by valid permit holders registered in the State of Rajasthan.

(2)RIICO shall mean the Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Limited.

(3)RFC shall mean the Rajasthan Finance Corporation.

(4)Words and expressions, not defined in these rules, shall be construed to have the meanings assigned to them literally.
